Our Team

Mason Fong, CEO & Co-Founder

Mason has over a decade of experience working at all three levels of government (Federal, State and local) as well as with government serving organizations in the private and non-profit sector.

Most recently, Mason served as the Government Affairs Strategist at Peregrine Technologies, a company serving law enforcement agencies through data integration software. Peregrine retains many former employees of Palantir. Mason led Peregrine’s effort to connect with elected officials across the nation through the company’s membership with the National League of Cities (NLC), and he drove business development efforts leveraging federal and State funding sources with targeted outreach campaigns.

Prior to that, Mason also served as the Deputy Director of External Affairs for CA Governor Gavin Newsom where he covered all of Northern CA acting as the touch point for community and elected leaders across 30 Counties from the Bay Area to the Oregon border.

Mason has served as an elected official himself as a former Sunnyvale City Councilmember and at the time was elected as the youngest Councilmember and only third Asian American in the City’s history. There he led the effort to establish a formal smart cities strategy to leverage technology towards public benefits for residents and businesses.

Mason has also served under two Silicon Valley Congressmen, the current San Jose Mayor and a former San Jose Vice Mayor both of whom chaired San Jose’s Smart Cities & Service Improvements Committee, as well as two major business lobbies in the San Jose Chamber of Commerce and San Diego Chamber of Commerce.

Mason graduated from the University of California San Diego (UCSD) with a B.A. in Urban Studies & Planning and a minor in Political Science. In his free time, Mason enjoys taking his husky, Wolfy, out to the dog park, attending comedy shows, and playing basketball.
